Get Involved

We want to encourage all Stirling Tenants to get involved and have their voices heard.

With the STA you can help shape how the Council Housing Service is provided and contribute to decisions that are made. It's also a great way to learn new skills and meet new people.

Below are details on some of ways you can get involved with the STA.

STA Member

We welcome new members to the Stirling Tenants Assembly.

We meet every month across the Council area to discuss housing issues.

The STA also takes part in the Central Regional Network meetings arranged by the Scottish Government.

Repairs Group

Council Officers from Technical Services meet with Council Tenants and the Independent Tenant Advisor to discuss policy, performance, proposed changes, capital investment and how to improve the service.

The group is always looking for NEW members; just be aware it is not a forum to try to get your individual problems sorted, but to help improve the repairs service generally.

Tenant Inspection

Tenants take part in inspections of Housing Services about two times per year.

Inspections can take up to six weeks to complete, usually requiring a day a week to take part.

We are always looking for new tenant inspectors. You will recieve full training.

Other ways to get involved

Stirling Council works with an Independant Tenant Participation Officer employed by TPAS to work with you to get involved. There are lots of ways you can do this, some requiring just an hour or so a few times a year.

  • Tenants Panel
  • Tenants Voice
  • Tenant Led Inspector
  • Completing telephone/online surveys
  • Like & Share our Facebook page
  • Estate walkabouts
  • Housing Advisory Group Member
  • Setting up a Registered Tenants Organisation

You might have a new idea or want to find out why the Council work the way they do. You might just want to fill in a few surveys over the year or maybe join the Housing Advisory Group to get really involved in decision making.

If you would like to find out more you can contact the Independant Tenant Participation Officer on 01786 237661 or email laffertyl@stirling.go.v.uk
